Nita Nelson Bookkeeping (“we”, “us”) operates this website. This policy explains what information the site handles and how we treat it. It is written to describe what this site actually does — nothing more.

Information this website collects

This website is a static site. It contains no contact forms, no newsletter signup, no user accounts and no login. We do not ask you to submit any personal information through this website, and there is nothing here that stores what you type.

If you download our free guide, the download happens directly in your browser. No email address is requested and nothing is recorded.

When you contact us

If you call our office, we may keep a note of your name, phone number and what you asked about, so that we can follow up. If you book a consultation using our online scheduling link, that booking is handled by our scheduling provider, and the information you enter there (typically your name, email address, phone number and any notes) is held under that provider’s own privacy policy as well as this one.

We use the information you give us only to respond to you and to provide the services you asked about. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for marketing purposes.

Client information

For bookkeeping and payroll clients, we handle financial records under a separate engagement agreement. That information is used solely to perform the work you have engaged us for, is stored in secure, access-controlled accounting systems, and is shared with third parties only where you have asked us to — for example with your CPA, your payroll filing agency, or a government agency where filing requires it.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future to understand which pages are useful, we will use it in an aggregate, anonymized form and will update this policy to say so.

Embedded content

Some pages may embed content hosted elsewhere, such as a scheduling calendar. Embedded content behaves as though you had visited that other website directly, and those providers may collect data about your interaction with the embedded content under their own policies.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Client financial data is held in reputable cloud accounting platforms protected by strong passwords and multi-factor authentication where available. In the event of a breach affecting your information, we will take immediate steps to secure the systems involved and contact the people affected.

Retention

We keep client records for as long as we are engaged with you, and afterwards for the period required by applicable tax, accounting and legal record-keeping obligations. Enquiry notes that do not become client engagements are discarded once they are no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will comply except where we are required to keep a record for legal, tax or accounting reasons. To make a request, call us at (469) 428-7708.
